We are unique in that we only take on two or three clients each month, allowing us to offer 1 on 1 training work with the dog owners. Earning AKC titles is often a goal of our clients, and one which we love to help them achieve. It is extremely rewarding to see your dog successfully competing in a sport that he was born to do. At South Texas Gun Dogs we offer gun dog training for retrievers of all types; Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, Chesapeake bay retrievers, Boykin spaniels, etc. Gun dog training includes five basic obedience commands (sit, stay, here, heel, kennel), and hunt training. There are three different levels of hunt training. We charge $500 for each month of training (boarding, food, and all training included). Most boarding services at a kennel will $650+ for a one month stay. One kennel in Katy, TX charges $32 per day, totaling $960 per month. If you are going out of town, don't waste your money on boarding fees! We will train your dog for less money! A description of our training program is below. BASIC HUNTER (beginner) The Basic Hunter training program involves gun breaking, the basics of retrieving, building the drive to retrieve, delivery to hand, and singles on land and water. This program begins with six weeks of focused obedience training. Focused hunt training begins when the obedience training is complete.
